Alexander Calder

I recently picked up a little pocket art book from Spectator Books on Piedmont Ave; $4.00 for 32 lovely color plates of Alexander Calder’s work. I’ll have to save up a little more than that to get ‘Calder at Home: The Joyous Environment of Alexander Calder’ but it looks like it would be worth it. “Be careful where you step,” Calder told photographer Pedro Guerrero, while walking through his less than tidy studio, “everything here is important.”

Remind me to tell you the story about Santa Cruz Lance and A. Calder at the Guggenheim next month.
