Spaces: Echo Park

Dwell on Design has just wrapped up their house tours of L.A. with their landmark tour being the  Stahl House, also known as Case Study House 22, iconically photographed by Julius Shulman. Another house featured in this past series is the colorful and cozy Kameon/Otsea House.

From the architects:

The Kameon/Otsea house was a single story painting studio that was converted into a two story single family residence. The large open studio space was maintained as the main room of the house, and includes the kitchen, large dining area and living room, with huge sliding glass doors opening directly into the garden. The second floor has light filled rooms for sleeping, bathing and dressing, and a small shared office. Each room looks into the canopy of a large tree, and there is a lovely view of the neighboring hillside bordering Chavez Ravine.
