East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse

With not much going on today and hankering to get outside I tool the bike out for a little ride and ended up on Telegraph in the Temescal district. I stopped by Pickle Thrift and Bake Sale Betty’s but the first stop was at the East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse. I found this place a while back and was kind of amazed at the assortment of stuff they have.

VHS tapes, furniture, slides and photographs, frames, meat trays (you know those green styrofoam trays your pork chops come on? Yes, those meat trays), fabric, and, for lack of a better word, junk. Sometimes awesome junk, sometimes meat trays. I have been working my way through their photo drawers for an art project and today seemed like a good day to tackle another drawer and see what was new. Shelves filled with beautiful old wallpaper. Bins of scientific stamps, I had to grab a few. Handfuls of new old photographs for my project files (the top image in the slideshow is a photograph drawer as found, the bottom image is a drawer after I have looked through every single photo inside.) You really never know what you’ll find and that’s all part of the fun.
