Oakland Art Murmur – May

I went down to First Friday this weekend and met up with MCM. We did the usual Telegraph and 23rd galleries but then ventured down to 25th to find the new space for Mercury 20. There was a lot more going on down there than we had realized including some open studios. Keer Tanchak‘s French revolutionaries and royalists, in oil on aluminum, which I was looking forward to seeing, did not impress as much in person. Nothing blew us away; the small kitten painting at Johansson Projects and some prints at Mercury 20 were our favorites.
