Dan Kiley and the Oakland Museum of California

The Oakland Museum of California reopened this past Saturday after a two year, 62+ million dollar renovation. I am looking forward to a visit, especially the photography sections and the garden designed by Dan Kiley.

At last night’s DWR event the portion presented by Miller Studio featured a slide show of modern gardens and Kiley’s work for the Oakland museum was briefly mentioned. From the little available online about the gardens it does not seem to be his most inspired work but it’s in my own backyard, so to speak, so I think a field trip is in order and then I can judge for myself.
